IT&T Field Engineer
Fraport Greece, in the framework of the operation of the 14 Regional Airports, seeks for a professional “IT&T Field Engineer” at Santorini Airport (JTR).
Job Purpose
The IT&Τ Field Engineer is responsible for installing, monitoring and maintaining airport’s IT&T systems and networks, for diagnosing any hardware or software faults with these systems and solve the issues either in person or over the phone. The IT&Τ Field Engineer is also responsible to perform cabling works and patching, ongoing routine checks on machinery, and maintain and update Fraport Greece’s equipment inventory at each airport location.
Responsibilities
- On-site installation & configuration of Fraport’s IT&T hardware, operating systems and applications
- Maintains and monitors airport’s IT&T systems and networks
- Logs the queries of customers and employees to an IT service management tool
- Diagnoses and solves first level hardware and/or software faults
- Responds to call-outs in a timely fashion
- Follows work instructions, either written or in diagram form, in order to set up a system or fix a fault
- Escorts and directs IT crews or workers of partners, stakeholders and customers on site and inside airport’s IT&T Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Secondary Distribution Frames (SDFs) where they host their equipment or would host it
- Performs on call support and may work overtime and during weekends
- Receives, perform safekeeping, reconciliate and record IT&T hardware assets on local inventory
- Communicates with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
- Actively participate in projects as assigned in order to achieve department and company goals
- Conducts research and studies on site
- Drafts and submits reports
- Stays current with the latest technologies according to the airport’s total equipment install base
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Systems/Electronics Engineering
- At least 3 years working experience in technical support roles as a field engineer or as member of a formal IT&T support team
- Extensive telecommunications cabling infrastructure knowledge, especially copper Category 5, 5e, 6, 6a and 7
- Knowledge of and experience in hardware and software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting in regard to the IT&T systems and networks
- Network /system certifications and airport experience will be considered as a plus
- Fluent in written and spoken Greek (C2)
- Fluent in written and spoken English (C1/C2)
